Riot Games are rolling out League of Legends update 9.12 that brings changes to Sylas, a complete rework to Mordekaiser and a big kick in the jewels to Ryze. We can't say we are not glad he is getting wrecked by the nerf hammer though.

League of Legends patch 9.12 will go down in history as the one where Riot Games killed two birds with one stone, at least temporarily. The developers' problems with balancing Ryze and fixing Mordekaiser's bugs have become widely known and seriously infamous by the time this was written.

Mordekaiser is well known as the buggiest champion to ever grace the Fields of Justice and Riot Games didn't manage to fix all of his glitches all the way until the end. They completely reworked the champion and he can no longer capture the ghosts of the enemy champions or the dragon but the new ultimate is just as epic. You can check all the new abilities on Mordekaiser's wiki page.

Sylas has become one of the most popular champions the moment he was released and Riot are now nerfing the inmate. His passive will be only 70 per cent effective against minions now and Chain Lash will have less damage as well as lower scaling, resulting in less burst overall. Furthermore, Sylas will need to actually land his skillshot to gain a shield but will have more healing through Kingslayer.

We saved cream of the crop for last. Ryze is the other bird Riot are demolishing with a single stone called patch 9.12. Overload now has five ranks and deals more damage based on Realm Warp's rank but it no longer provides shield, finally making the blue Usain Bolt vulnerable. It will still provide a massive speed boost though.

Riot's intention to make Ryze a glass cannon becomes more apparent with the change to Rune Prison which now has a higher AP scaling ratio but does not root enemies by default. It will only root them for 1.5 seconds if it is empowered by Spell Flux.

His playmaking may still be a regular thing though, since Realm Warp's cooldown has been reduced significantly.

You can check the full list of changes, including a reversal of Yuumi's buffs on the official LoL website.
