The creators of Dark Souls and Sekiro FromSoftware have revealed their new game on E3 2019 named Elden Ring. As rumoured, it's a new open-world dark fantasy RPG made in collaboration with Game of Thrones creator George R.R. Martin
FromSoftware have officially announced their new project named Elden Ring on Xbox's E3 2019 show with a debut cinematic trailer. The earlier leaks and rumours, suggesting that FromSoftware are working with Game of Thrones creator George R.R Martin were correct as Dark Souls and Sekiro devs officially confirmed the collab in the announcement.
While the game was officially revealed, the details are pretty scarce and FromSoftware are still keeping their cards close to their chest. However, they confirmed that this will be the biggest FromSoftware game to date, featuring an open world that was created by Hidetaka Miyazaki and George R. R. Martin.
As for the trailer, it's another masterpiece by FromSoftware but unfortunately, it doesn't reveal much apart from a couple of mysterious characters. The voiceover mentions The Elden Ring, which "commanded the skies", giving "life its fullest brilliance" but apparently, it's been shattered by "someone of something".
A tiny bit of lore that does seem pretty mysterious and dark, which is, of course, something we expect from the Japanese developer.
The release date, platforms and other specific details are still unknown but the leak that turned out to be true mentioned that the game will be multiplatform, meaning it's coming to PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
The leak also claims that Elden Ring is a Norse-themed with Frost Giants, Draugrs and Nokkens with a story that takes place in a kingdom during "100-year civil war". Apparently, it begins after the disappearance of a group of king's knights who went on a search for a powerful artefact, which is probably the Elden Ring.
Furthermore, players will get to choose from three characters - a hunter with a longbow, a warrior with a great shield and giant club and a wizard that can cast magic out of a book. From Software
