Bethesda and id Software have rolled out a story trailer for Doom Eternal and announced the official launch date as 22 November 2019. The story is still about demons, but there was also talk about the new 2 vs. 1 multiplayer BattleMode.
As you'd expect, Doom Eternal is all about gentle persuasion and talking it out in a civilised manner. Just checking whether you're following - c'mon, it's about what Doom's always been about.
"Earth becomes a living nightmare as demons take over the planet and push humanity to the brink of extinction. Now, it's up to players to once again become the legendary Doom Slayer and rip and tear their way through the hordes of Hell in Doom Eternal", they wrote.
Doom Eternal will have players mercilessly ploughing through the hordes of Hell, sporting the likes of all-new shoulder-mounted Flame Belch for some light searing, and the Chainsaw, which we do believe needs no explanation.
"Doom Eternal's arsenal features many weapons fans have come to expect from Doom plus considerable upgrades such as the enhanced Plasma Gun (complete with a redesign inspired by its classic 1993 appearance)", they said.
Shoulder-mounted Equipment Launcher and the Doom Blade complete the announced arsenal, but id reminded that it's the offensive movement capabilities that will bring out the best of Doom's brutal weaponry.
If you're a fan of the franchise, then you should know Doom Eternal is bringing back a familiar face - the Cyberdemon, who was a boss in 1993's Doom and graced the cover of Doom 2 in 1994.
Doom Eternal will come with a new 2 vs. 1 multiplayer mode, which pits two demons against a fully stocked Slayer, in a "competitive, engaging and fun best-of-five round fight to the death."

Doom Eternal is also one of the first games to be greenlighted for launch on Stadia and while Google announced some 30 games to be coming to the platform, Doom and Assassin's Creed: Odyssey were among the first to be confirmed.
It launches on 22 November 2019 for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Stadia and Switch.
