Cyberpunk 2077 will release on 16 April 2020 and it was announced by CD Projekt Red's special guest who will appear in the game, Keanu Reeves himself. He will look more like John Wick than Neo, which will definitely divide fans' reactions.
Cyberpunk 2077's latest trailer was more on the cinematic side and is most likely not actual gameplay. It hyped everyone up just like it was though since it was directly responsible for the reveal of the 16 April 2020 release date.
It kicks off a little while after the 48 gameplay demo ended, where V and Jackie accepted the job offer from Dex. It didn't go smoothly but V delivered the wanted chip but unfortunately, it came at a great cost as Jackie bled out in the getaway car.
Dex seems to be pleased by the delivery but the collateral damage and attention from corporations caused him to turn hostile to V, who is male in this footage. They duke it out, V kills Dex's bodyguard, but the operator we earlier heard on voice communications during the demo footage now hacks V's hardware which freezes him up long enough for Dex to shoot him.
This is where things get juicy. V wakes up in a scrapyard where he was apparently left for dead. He is greeted by a mysterious figure that really resembles John Wick and turns out to actually be a character played by Keanu Reeves himself.
The actor turned up on live stage shortly after and earned another pile of internet fame as he announced the release date for CD Projekt Red.
CD Project Red
John Wick is not exactly set in a cyberpunk universe which may cause some fans to be disappointed CD Projekt Red didn't go for Neo's likeness since the character could theoretically be a better fit. On the other hand, we liked the John Wick-like rugged looks Keanu was sporting in the trailer, which you can check on the video above and judge for yourself.
