Rockstar are keeping up the tempo of weekly Red Dead Online updates and this time around, we're getting the Wild Animal Kills Challenge, new Head for the Hills Showdown mode, A Land of Opportunities bonuses, a care package and more.
As the name suggests, Red Dead Online's Wild Animal Kills Challenge is all about hunting and this Free Roam Event will pit you against other hunters.
Red Dead Online's hunters will be awarded points based on the size of the animal, where small, medium and large animals bring in one, two and three points. The further you go, the more dangerous predators you'll meet, and they bring extra points.
You won't have to worry about other hunters, of course, at least not directly, because offensive attacks are disabled - it's all about hunting.
Head for the Hills, on the other hand, is a Showdown Mode, where "players take turns making a last-ditch run across no-man's-land to their safe house, while opponents have only one objective: to hunt you down. Stake out the high ground, hide in the shadows or stalk your enemies out in the open, but don't let them get to safety."
Rockstar also wrote that Red Dead Online will be getting two more Showdown Modes in the upcoming weeks, and they're called Public Enemy and Sport of Kings.
Completing some missions from A Land of Opportunities earns players RDO$50 bonus for the first mission, Honor Among Horse Thieves. RDO$75 bonuses await those who finish Kill Them, Each and Every One while completing Destroyed by Grief earns 10 Gold Bars.
Rockstar decided that it's time for some Red Dead Online care packages, and visiting your Camp Lockbox or Post Office earns you the following:
- 5x Potent Miracle Tonic
- 5x Potent Snake Oil
- 5x Potent Health Cure
- 5x Potent Bitters
- 120x Express Revolver Ammo
Red Dead Online also has some racoon-flavoured rewards for players with 2-Step Verification on their Social Club accounts, 10 Gold Bars and GTA$500K included, as well as a bunch of additional cosmetics.
