GOG informed their users that they will be pulling all of Telltale Games' titles on 27 May 2019 due to the studio's closure. Steam followed suit but Valve didn't post any heads up before pulling the titles. Borderlands might survive.

GOG posted on their forums recently, explaining that Telltale's closure will result in all of their titles being delisted from the storefront on 27 May 2019, 10 AM UTC. Anyone who purchased any of these games will still have them in their library and since they are DRM free, there is nothing to stop players from making physical copies as backup.

The full list of games that will leave the store is as follows:

  • The Wolf Among Us
  • Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy
  • Hector: Badge of Carnage
  • Batman: The Telltale Series
  • Batman: The Enemy Within
  • Sam & Max: Save the World
  • Sam & Max: Beyond Time and Space
  • Tales from the Borderlands
  • Puzzle Agent
  • Puzzle Agent 2
  • Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People

Valve have already delisted Tales from the Borderlands on Steam earlier without a heads up in the manner of GOG. Epic Games did not remove any of the Telltale titles so far while PlayStation and Xbox One stores still featured all the Telltale games they previously had at the time of writing.

2K Games have also talked with Eurogamer, stating that they are working on getting Tales from the Borderlands back up on Steam as soon as possible but it is currently unknown whether the game will make a comeback on GOG.

GOG users who are interested in some of the titles asked whether there would be a discount before the games clear out from the store but Ashleee, a GOG employee, said that no such thing was mentioned in the company.

Therefore, those who want to purchase any of the aforementioned games will need to do so before the next Monday. Otherwise, there will inevitably be other ways to get these games on PC but they tend to involve eye patches and peg legs.
