NetherRealm Studios have stated previously that Kronika would not be a playable character in Mortal Kombat 11 but it appears that modders are not having any of it. They took the matters into their own hands and made the character playable.

Mortal Kombat 11 is a mess on PC due to the lack of support and by extent, late day one patch that rebalanced the game for consoles but was not available on PC at the time of writing. This version of the game has one distinct advantage though - PC is an open platform which means it allows modding even when developers didn't intend it to be available.

From this point on, there will be some story mode spoilers so we would advise you stop reading the article if you don't want a close encounter with them.

In the case of Ed Boon's latest gore-fest, this means that modders already managed to put previously unplayable, story-related characters into the game.

The most prominent one in Mortal Kombat 11 is Kronika, the final boss in the story mode and the entity that pushed the entire narrative of the game's pretty amazing story.

NetherRealm Studios did not intend to make her a playable character, or at least not yet, but the modders made it possible on PC. Their work is still rough around the edges as picking each of the newly added characters shows them as Cassie Cage in the select screen.

You can preview her moves on the first video above as well as the second one in the text body, but the latter also features Cyrax and Sector, who were previously only seen as story mode NPCs.

The two cyber ninjas feature fairly similar moves except for the iconic ones, such as Sektor's rocket or Cyrax's net. Unfortunately, the video does not show their fatalities, but Kronika's dedicated video shows her unending fatality which is right at the top of the competition for the most disturbing one in Mortal Kombat 11.

It's probably just D'Vorah's fatality that is more disturbing than being perpetually torn apart and flayed.

You can follow the first video to YouTube in case you want to download the mod but there is currently no telling whether it would break your game, OS or PC so it might be wise to wait a little for community feedback.
