Gun Media, the publisher of Layers of Fear 2 announced that the game will be available on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, come 28 May 2019. It will be developed by Bloober Team and will follow up on the story of the original game.
Bloober Team went through a slight name change, on Steam at least, but they developed the original Layers of Fear and will be the developers of the sequel. The publisher has, however, changed from Aspyr who published another Bloober's acclaimed game, Observer, to Gun Media.
Players will not assume the role of the painter from the original game, but rather a Hollywood actor who decides to make the best choice of his life and accept an invite from an "enigmatic" director. The invite leads the protagonist to an ocean liner which no one could ever suspect of being a questionable thing to do.
Hollywood actor's brilliant decision making aside, players will be once again presented with the psychological horror that was present in the original Layers of Fear as well.
It will be accompanied by a classical, ominous soundtrack that will probably help keep players on their toes for the duration of the story.
According to the description on the official Layers of Fear 2 Steam page, the protagonist may be experiencing some sort of amnesia since one of the features is apparently digging into their past throughout the storyline.
There was no price tag at the time of writing but the PC system requirements were available. It seems like Layers of Fear 2 will be fairly heavy on the CPU as the minimum requirement is i5-3470 at 3.2 GHz while the recommended CPU is an i7-6700K at 4.0 GHz.
AMD CPU requirements were not listed for CPU or GPUs. Speaking of which, the minimum GPU requirement will be GTX 750 Ti while the recommended one is a GTX 1070. There will not be much needed for RAM as the lower border is 5GB but it's recommended to have at least 8GB as well as 14 GB free disk space.
