Rage 2 Xbox One download size has been officially confirmed by Microsoft Store. The game's approximate download size is 30.83 GB, which is pretty reasonable considering the scope of its open world. No word on pre-load yet, though.
Bethesda's post-apocalyptic chaotic shooter Rage 2 is just around the corner now, and in the last couple of weeks, the publisher have been trying to keep the hype levels as high as possible with new trailers, gameplay footage and details about the game's features.
Some of these features are a huge open world, various guns, vehicles and locations. Of course, a lot of content and features means bigger download size, but surprisingly, Rage 2 will not be one of those beefy boys.
According to an official listing on Microsoft Store, Rage 2 will only take approximately 30.83 GB of your Xbox One hard drive size, which is more than reasonable, considering the size of the game's world and all the details we saw in earlier trailers and gameplay videos.
If you plan to play Rage 2 on PC or PlayStation 4, the download size should probably be the same or at least relatively close to the Xbox One's. Traditionally, games are bigger on PC and Rage 2 probably won't be an exception, but the difference should be marginal only.
It's interesting that the sequel is only 9 GB bigger than the first game in the series. Rage's current download size is 21 GB, which is probably due to megatextures technique that id Software implemented back in the day.
As for the pre-load, unfortunately, Microsoft Store does not mention details about that. It would be surprising if Bethesda didn't offer players a chance to download the game before the official release though. Those with slower internet speeds would certainly appreciate the feature.
Rage 2 is dropping on 14 May 2019 for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
