Kitana has already been confirmed for Mortal Kombat 11 but we didn't see her in action until the TV commercial by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. She is briefly shown fighting Scorpion and look drastically different from before.

Kitana is one of the veteran Mortal Kombat characters that was murdered by Sindel in Mortal Kombat 9, which is why everyone expected to see her in wraith form first.

It appears that Kronika attempted to use Kitana in her plot to rewrite the timeline in Mortal Kombat 11, which resulted in the Keeper of Time summoning the past version of Edenia's princess, where she was still alive. This is the version of Kitana we got to see in the TV spot, where she is briefly shown fighting Scorpion.

Whether Kitana takes her up on the offer remains to be seen and if she doesn't, it could throw a new twist to her subtle feelings towards Liu Kang, whose past version was also summoned by Kronika. Liu Kang himself decided not to help the Keeper in her intentions and presumably sides with Raiden's forces, so if Kitana decides to go along with Kronika's plan, the two could once again find themselves on the opposing sides.

Just like in her previous appearances, Kitana is sporting the sharp fans she sometimes uses as melee weapons but is also shown tossing them, allowing her to effectively fight at range as well.

On the other hand, unlike in her previous appearances, Kitana now doesn't have as voluminous hair and is dressed a bit more modestly. The TV spot shows her in a skin-tight outfit that now covers most of her body, unlike in previous instalments where she wore a glorified bikini and thigh-high boots.

Her actual gameplay reveal is likely just around the corner as well since there are just over two weeks until Mortal Kombat 11 releases on 23 April 2019.
