Romero Games, the studio led by Doom co-creator John Romero are making a mysterious strategy game in partnership with Paradox Interactive. The details are pretty scarce at the moment and the developer plan to share more info on E3 2019.
Romero Games and Paradox Interactive are partnering up to work on a brand new strategy game it's been confirmed in the latest announcement from Paradox Interactive.
The Irish studio formed by one of the creators of the iconic shooter Doom, John Romero and his wife Brenda Romero who worked as a game designer on Wizardry, will develop the new game that they describe as a dream project they wanted to make for some time now.
"This has been a project we’ve been wanting to work on for a long time, so it’s especially exciting that we’ll be partnering with Paradox Interactive to fully realize that dream,” said Brenda Romero.
The details about the new strategy are pretty scarce at the moment, and apart from the announcement, we know nothing about the project. However, Brenda Romero said that the team is looking forward to sharing more details pretty soon.
On their Twitter profiles, both John and Brenda say that the world's biggest gaming expo - E3, is the place where their new strategy could get a proper reveal. They also shared a link for a newsletter that will apparently deliver some exclusive news before E3 2019, so if you want to know more, you should probably sign up.
Paradox Games' CEO Ebba Ljungerud said that she and Paradox are thrilled to work with gaming legends whose games they've grown up playing. She also said Paradox will employ their top-tier strategy expertise to help John and Brenda Romero build a really special game.
John Romero's latest project is named Sigil and it's a DOOM episode that Romero describes as an unofficial spiritual successor to the Ultimate Doom's fourth episode. It was originally scheduled to release in February 2019 before getting delayed to April 2019.
