PS Plus lineup is looking kind of deserted now that the service no longer supports PlayStation 3 and PS Vita but this may allow PlayStation 4 owners to get higher profile games in the future but for now there are Conan Exiles & The Surge.

PS Plus subscribers will be able to grab Conan Exiles and The Surge, come 02 April 2019. They will have until then to pick up the current roster which includes Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered and The Witness.

Conan Exiles is a survival game by Funcom where players assume the role of a criminal dumped in the Exiled Lands where they attempt to survive long enough to build their homestead and eventually get rid of the armbrace that prevents them from leaving the area. That is, if you care about "winning" the game and don't mind getting your character deleted.

Both games from the roster seem to aspire to introduce a Souls-like combat system although Funcom didn't waste too much time with it in Conan Exiles and focused more on the survival elements of the game. For those who are into the genre, it should prove to be a decent time sink where players might actually have some fun. Also don't forget to go fully juvenile and giggle while toying with certain sliders that are totally not related to private parts.

Meanwhile, The Surge is the second attempt by Deck 13 to develop a game with proper Souls-like combat. The first one may have reminded players of the actual games The Surge took inspiration from a little too much due to the setting but The Surge is definitely not going to do that as the game is set in a futuristic dystopia.

The usage of high-tech-scrap armour and weapons is an interesting take and if players' reports on the experience are correct, the game should provide more than a challenge as many of them quit before finishing it due to the difficulty eventually driving them off. Daddy Dark Souls would be proud.
