Death Stranding has entered a key phase in its development according to Hideo Kojima, game's director and writer. Apparently, Kojima plays Death Stranding on PlayStation 4 all the time to adjust and connect different gameplay elements.

It's safe to say that Hideo Kojima's upcoming Death Stranding is one of the most anticipated games in the last few years. Ever since its reveal back at E3 2016, the mysterious adventure has been a subject of many speculations but the details are still pretty scarce.

However, it looks like Death Stranding has reached a major milestone in its development process. According to Hideo Kojima, the game is yet to reach the debugging or difficulty adjustment stage but has entered a key development phase in which the developers are piecing together various elements and adding them into the game.

Kojima originally tweeted the news in Japanese but Kojima Productions Head of Marketing Aki Saito translated the message in English and offered further clarification of his boss' tweet.

Saito said that Kojima is playing Death Stranding regularly on his PlayStation 4 to connect and adjust various gameplay mechanics, and also add new features as well as remove some existing ones.

In one of his previous interviews with Japanese website J-Wave, Kojima stated that Death Stranding development is a bit behind schedule but that the game's story and design are fully completed at this stage.

Hideo Kojima and Death Stranding's lead actor Norman Reedus confirmed that they will talk about "pushing the boundaries of the video game medium and their latest collaboration" on Tribeca Film Festival panel which will take place between 24 April and 05 May 2019.

However, don't expect some huge reveals at the Festival, like the release date or exclusive gameplay, as that is, almost certainly reserved for some big gaming event.

E3 2019 would be the perfect place, but since Sony are ditching the expo this year it's hard to predict when exactly Sony and Kojima plan to reveal some fresh Death Stranding info.

It is possible that Sony hold their own conference before E3 2019, just like EA does with their EA Play or Nintendo with Nintendo Direct. This is, of course, just speculation as nothing is officially confirmed at the moment.
