Paradox Interactive have finally announced Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 after a prolonged marketing campaign with Tender pseudo dating app. It will arrive in early 2020 and will have many references to the original game.

Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 will apparently start in a similar fashion as the first game - the player gets sired by a vampire who didn't ask Camarilla for permission. The only difference here is that the siring was apparently an act of terrorism, rather than a result of a one night stand gone wrong. Or really right, we wouldn't have the first Bloodlines if it didn't happen.

Similar to the aforementioned original Bloodlines, players will be able to enter alliances with other factions, although Paradox didn't specifically state whether these factions would be the vampire clans. Considering that the setting is in Seattle where an insurrection put the vampires into a civil war, our bet is on Anarchs finally snapping after having had it with Camarilla's laws.

The trailer above shows several vampires that bear a striking resemblance to those seen in Santa Monica all those years ago. For example, the one on 0:45 time stamp looks a lot like Vivian Velour, or VV, while the vampire in the fancy tall building bears some similarities to Sebastian LaCroix. Paradox didn't confirm any of this, but if the latter turns out to be true and LaCroix is alive, it would suggest that the fledgeling from the first game was canonically loyal to either him or Camarilla.

Back to the confirmed facts, the combat will apparently be melee focused although Paradox didn't specifically state firearms would be unusable, but they did hint vampire powers would be in the focus.

Pre-orders for the game are already up, and Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 is a fully priced AAA title. It will have a Deluxe Edition which offers fan service through in-game items referencing characters from the first Bloodlines and the Premium Edition will feature the first season of DLC, on top of Deluxe Edition bonuses.

Yes, it looks like the game will follow the games as a service model.
