Apex Legends Season One: Wild Frontier is now live on all platforms along with some new changes and bug fixes. According to the patch notes, Respawn finally reduced the hitbox size for Caustic, Pathfinder and Gibraltar characters.
Apex Legends Season One: Wild Frontier has arrived on all platforms along with the battle pass and new character Octane. The first season update also brings a lot of improvements to the game's stability and performance as well as much much-requested changes to some Legends.
One of the biggest changes listed in the patch notes is the reduced hitbox size for Caustic, Pathfinder and Gibraltar characters. The hitboxes for these Legends have been adjusted to better align with their shapes. As you may know, the mentioned Legends' hitboxes were much larger when compared to Wraith's for example, but hopefully, the latest tweak will successfully address this.
Furthermore, Respawn also fixed several weapon bugs. Shortcuts for weapon swaps and Peacekeeper rechamber sequence have been addressed. Devotion audio bug that didn't accurately reflect the rate of fire is also fixed along with the digital threat optics highlights, that should now be more visible as Respawn made them slightly brighter and no longer affected by TSAA.
Respawn also mention that a lot of stability and performance issues have been fixed in the patch, but the work on these will also continue in the future as there are many other problems that need to be addressed.
For now, the devs improved stability for various GPU configurations and capped PC frame rate to 300 for additional balance and those who experienced crashes on PS4 due to running out of memory will be happy to hear that the issue has been fixed.
For PC players who are experiencing no error crashes, Respawn have introduced a new report system when the issue occurs. You can also check our guide for this particular issue.
Another report option has been added on PC for reporting potential cheaters and abusers. Respawn say that more than 499,937 accounts have been banned since the game launched and they will continue with their anti-cheat measures in future updates.
The update also introduces a lot of general improvements and bug fixes, and you can check them all out in the full patch notes.
