Koei Tecmo have revealed the minimum and recommended system specs for Dead or Alive 6. The most noticeable piece of hardware is certainly the recommended i7 8700 CPU. Apart from that, the specs look reasonable with GTX 770 and 1060 GPUs.

Koei Tecmo's sixth instalment in the fighting series Dead or Alive is arriving on 1 March 2019 and with launch just a few days away, the publisher has decided to reveal the minimum and recommended PC specs.

While the minimum requirements are pretty reasonable by today's standards, the recommended specs are looking a bit demanding, especially in the CPU category.

To play Dead or Alive 6 on the lowest possible settings and resolution, you'll need a four-core Intel i5-4690 CPU, Nvidia's GeForce GTX 770 and at least 8 GB of RAM.

As you can see, there's nothing particularly scary and its on par with other AAA titles - but some would argue that the listed CPU is just slightly higher than required CPUs in more graphically demanding games such as Metro Exodus for example.

However, the required GPU is six years old, so there's a bit of compensation for the stronger processor.

One thing that is missing from the system specs is the target frame rate. Given that these are the minimum specs, we assume they will be enough to push Dead or Alive 6 in 30 FPS.

The recommended hardware is a different story. If you're planning to play Dead or Alive 6 on high settings, you better have at least Intel's six-core CPU - i7 8700, Nvidia's GeForce GTX 1060 and 16 GB of RAM.

The part that stands out here is certainly the CPU requirement, which is surprisingly high for a fighting game. While we don't know the graphics settings that will require Intel's beefy part, the listed GPU tells us that this is probably for High settings at 1080p resolution.

When compared to another upcoming fighting title - Mortal Kombat 11, the difference in the required CPUs is astounding. NetherRealm's creation requires only Intel Core i3-2100 which is a two-core CPU released eight years ago. In the GPU department, Mortal Kombat 11 requires the same, GTX 1060 graphics card.

Many would say that Mortal Kombat 11 is a visually richer game than Koei Tecmo's title which isn't far from the truth and asks a lot of questions about Dead or Alive 6's optimisation.

CPU demanding games are usually strategy titles such as Civilisation and Total War, or adventures with huge open worlds such as Assassin's Creed Odyssey.

Dead or Alive 6 couldn't be further from these genres which is why it is so surprising to see such a high CPU requirement.
