The Division 2 open beta will offer one additional story mission and a new Chem Launcher skill with two variants. On top of that, players will get to test the Capitol Ruins PvP map. The open beta pre-loads starts on 28 February 2019.
Ubisoft are hosting an open beta test for The Division 2 pretty soon, and if you missed the first one, this may be a great opportunity to try out the game if you're still unconvinced by the upcoming looter shooter.
Those who played the closed beta test earlier in February will probably know what to expect, but Ubisoft are also adding some new content for testing.
First off, the character level cap has been increased to 8 and there is a brand new mission named Viewpoint Museum. This means that you'll get to play three story missions in the open beta as the two closed beta missions are also included.
One of the most interesting additions is the Chem Launcher skill. With this skill, players can shoot various chemicals that disperse upon impact. Chem Launcher will have two variations unlocked - Riot Foam and Explosive Vapor.
The first one fires a canister of sticky foam and everyone affected by it is stuck in place for a couple of seconds. Explosive Vapor launches a projectile that disperses and explodes, inflicting damage to nearby enemies.
For those who are looking to test The Division 2's PvP mechanics, Ubisoft are adding a new Skirmish map - Capitol Ruins. The Stadium map from the first beta will also be available.
Additionally, two new settlement projects will unlock with the second Theater upgrade.
Of course, you'll still get to try the endgame missions, specialisations and venture into the Dark Zone. Hopefully, this time you'll get to play it without bugs and exploits which appeared in the first beta.
Pre-loads start on 28 February 2019, so you can get everything up and running before the servers go live on 01 March 2019.
