Ubisoft have announced that Special Operation 4 for their Ghost Recon Wildlands will kick off on Wednesday, 27 February 2019. It will bring along a new PvE mode, PvP class and maps, Time of Day for solo campaign mode and more additions.
Once Special Operation 4 kicks in, players will apparently find a new game mode that will "test their endurance" but not much else has been said about it. Ubisoft attempted to keep a tight lid, with just that one clue in the official announcement, and it hints at a horde mode of sorts as it has been traditionally connected with "endurance" in previous games that included it.
It may not be endless though, as Ubisoft stated that there is an exclusive outfit reward that will be acquired after beating this mode for the first time. PvP players will not be left out either, as they will receive a new soldier class in Ghost War and two new maps to boot.
Come 27 February 2019, players will be able to change the time of day even in solo campaign mode as well as solo Ghost mode. This will be made possible with a new setting that will be introduced with the update but no more details were provided.
Special Operation 4 will overhaul how challenges work. Challenge Seasons will no longer be a thing and will be replaced by sets of daily challenges, which will include three solo challenges, one Task Force challenge and one community challenge.
Prestige rewards will be increased with the challenge alterations while completing a yet unrevealed number of daily challenges per week will grant players additional rewards, including prestige crates and a battle crate. Yay, loot boxes! Said no one ever.
There will be plenty of new additions that weren't mentioned in this article, as they are mostly connected with further monetisation, but Year 2 Pass owners will get more customisation options and immediate access to the new Ghost War class.
