Apex Legends is set for numerous post-launch updates which will include new modes, weapons, skins and bigger maps. This was confirmed by Respawn's CEO Vince Zampella who said that the number of additions will depend on game's popularity.

Apex Legends has been nothing but success for Respawn since the launch with more than 10 million players taking part in the battle royale shooter. For a free to play game, Apex Legends has enough content, solid optimisation and most importantly, it's a fun experience.

According to Respawn's CEO Vince Zampella, players can expect a lot more in the upcoming post-launch updates if the game's popularity continues in the same rhythm it started.

In an interview with VentureBeat, Zampella said that new weapons, characters, game modes, skins and bigger maps are planned but the number of updates will depend of "how successful" the game is. This means that Respawn will be happy to release regular content updates for Apex Legends as long as players continue to play it.

"This is just the start of our journey. There will be a ton of stuff coming over the next year to 10, maybe. It depends on how successful it is." Zampella said.

Judging by Zampella's words, both Respawn and EA have big plans for the new IP which already has more players than Battlefield V and more concurrent players than PUBG.

Respawn's CEO also talked about content that was originally planned for the initial release but the developers decided to opt for a bit different experience. For example, the current map has been a subject of many changes and supported even bigger player numbers. Eventually, the developers agreed that the 60-player version was the most balanced and fun to play.

It looks like Respawn Entertainment and EA will follow PUBG's model which include releasing new, different-themed maps rather than Fortnite's which is still offering one map that changes with every new season.
