Call of Duty: Black Ops 4's Design Director David Vonderhaar has responded to fans' criticism of vehicles in Blackout's new mode dubbed Ambush. Vonderhaar agreed and said that vehicles should get removed to ensure fair play for everyone.

Treyarch recently introduced a new limited time mode for Blackout called Ambush, so to make its battle royale arena a bit more exciting and unpredictable, with constantly moving circles. The mode also limits players to sniper rifles, melee attacks and launchers.

While the idea may look good on paper, some players voiced their concerns about the certain features that can make gameplay a bit unfair. The biggest issue at the moment are vehicles.

As Ambush requires players to be on the move all the time, courtesy of the continually shrinking circle, finding a vehicle can be a real lifesaver and offer a huge advantage over everyone else.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4's design director David Vonderhaar responded to players' concerns by saying that he personally agrees with the suggestion to remove vehicles from Ambush mode.

He also mentioned that the circle could get some tweaking as the weapons in the game are pretty slow. This suggests that Treyarch may be looking to slow down the shrinking speed of the circle in one of the future updates.

Some fans also suggested that Treyarch drop the Bowie knife from Ambush mode, as many players just end up running around the map trying to melee everyone.

The problem is even bigger in the final circle, which often becomes a Bowie knife-fest. Those who prefer snipers become an easy prey pretty quickly due to weapons' slow fire rate and small manoeuvring space.

Vonderhaar responded that he wouldn't drop the Bowie knife entirely. Instead, he offered a solution which would make the item scarcer to put more focus on battles over the supply drops.

All in all, it looks like Ambush is set for some tweaks, which should further improve the mode an offer a fair gameplay experience to everyone.
