PUBG's PlayStation 4 version was the last one to launch but it's slowly but surely being brought up to speed. PUBG Corp's Update #1 has added the snow map, Vikendi, snowmobile included, as well as new weapons, Survivor Pass and more.
We're talking about the last map to hit PUBG's PC and Xbox One versions too, which was intended to close the gap between Sanhok and Erangel/Miramar. It's a 6x6 kilometre map with plenty of snow, especially in the starting area, where you can chuck snowballs at other players.
As you'd expect from a snow map, driving PUBG's vehicles will be significantly more difficult and it gets worse the faster you go. Moreover, you'll be leaving footprints and vehicle tracks that could give away your position, although they're removed after some time.
Vikendi boasts higher spawn rates of level 3 vests, smoke grenades, while the remainder of spawn rates also serves as a midpoint between Sanhok and Erangel. The map also got a 10-week Survivor Pass with a bunch of stuff to do and five mission types - daily, weekly, beginner, premium and challenge missions.
PUBG's PS4 players got treated to two new guns, the first of which is exclusive to Vikendi. G36C uses 5.56mm ammo and packs 30 bullets, or 40 with extended mags. It won't allow for attaching a stock but has upper and lower rails.
The second new gun is the Skorpion and it spawns on all the maps. It uses 9mm ammo and packs 20 bullets, or 40 with extended mags, while offering single and full auto fire modes. It supports red dot sights, suppressors, vertical foregrips, half grips, light grips, laser sights, Micro Uzi stocks and extended mags.
Vikendi also got winter-themed means of transportation and we're looking at a 2 seat vehicle that makes it much easier to drive on snowy terrain. You can also make a choice of your PUBG maps now and PUBG Corp threw in the Survival Title System, a new system of progressing through the game.
