Treyarch have announced the starting and ending times of a surprise event in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 that will double experience, weapon experience and merits. It will kick off on 28 December 2018 and conclude on 01 January 2019.
Treyarch and Activision may have some issues with their event planning as the next event will kick off on Friday, mere days before the New Year's Eve and it will conclude right after the big night. It makes one wonder who will be left to play Black Ops 4 as there is no doubt a good chunk of the community will be celebrating both the weekend and later on New Year.
In both cases, the mature players are likely to get intoxicated, so it doesn't leave many with the option to grind experience or currency twice as fast. Speaking of which, those who remain tied to their PCs or consoles will get twice as much experience and weapon experience in multiplayer and Zombies. Battle royale enthusiasts will get twice as many merits during the event, to counter the grind a bit.
Treyarch's ideas may be a little bit off as well, since zombies in Blackout will have festive clothing. There is nothing wrong with a little bit of festivity in the holiday season, but it's rather weird that zombies in the actual Zombies mode are not sporting any of the festive clothes.
The clothing may be just there for the duration of the holiday event, but there will be a permanent zombie spawn near the farm in the Blackout map.
Meanwhile, those who prefer regular multiplayer will get the new Moshpit playlist that will add the two new maps, Elevation and Madagascar, for players to duke it out in various modes - Domination, Kill Confirmed, Hardpoint and Team Deathmatch.
As per usual, the player base will be separated initially as those who own the Season Pass will get to play the new maps first, while the rest of the players will have to wait.
