Netflix are preparing to renew The Witcher series for multiple new seasons ahead of release. GWW's Editor-in-Chief Casey Walsh shared the news by saying that the publisher is quite happy and could follow up with new seasons very soon.
Apparently, everything is going silky smooth for the upcoming Witcher TV series produced by Netflix. It's looking so good that Netflix wants to green-light multiple new seasons even before they actually release the first one. They're so confident that Henry Cavill as Geralt will be a huge hit and won't even wait to see if the fans and critics actually enjoy it.
This bit of info is coming from Geeks WorldWide who claim that Netflix is delighted with the overall progress. "Sounds like Netflix is very happy with The Witcher and we could see multiple seasons greenlit before season one airs or shortly after," Walsh said.
Of course, take this with a grain of salt, because we don't have any strong sources confirming the information. On the other hand, it could be true given the hype around the show which is possibly Netflix's most anticipated series to date.
The hype train got going after the reveal of Henry Cavill as the leading man, which sparked a lot of debate between Witcher fans. While some of them claimed he looks too young and nothing like Geralt, others were pleased with Netflix's decision saying that Cavill's casting is the right choice given that the TV series is based on books and not on the Witcher games.
Lauren S. Hissrich is the executive producer of the show. She previously worked on The West Wing, Justice and Daredevil before taking The Witcher's proverbial helm. It's also been confirmed that the filming is taking place in Eastern Europe.
