Open world survival game DayZ has finally left the early access and to celebrate the milestone, Bohemian Interactive are offering their game for free until 17 December 2018. Along with the free weekend, DayZ's price is also 15 per cent off.
After six years in the works, Bohemian Interactive's open world survival DayZ has finally got a full release. The 1.0 update is now live on Steam and the doors are open to everyone who wants to experience the harsh post-soviet country of Chernarus.
DayZ will be free to play until Monday, 17 December 2018 which means you'll have a whole weekend and a little bit extra to decide if it's worth buying or not. If roaming the grim open world proves to be a fun experience for you, Bohemian Interactive are offering a 15 per cent discount during the free weekend. After that, DayZ will be available for £31.99.
The full release includes a bunch of improvements and additions that have been worked on since the developers announced the launch back in November. Some new features include various new sounds for characters, animals, vehicles and guns, new animations, menu character screens and new UI icons and server browser.
Along with that, Bohemian Interactive addressed some issues that were plaguing the game. Client and server crashes have been fixed and players will no longer have to experience missing textures and roadways, missing recoil animations, and teleporting zombies.
According to the developer, there is still a ton of work left ahead if DayZ is to become a successful game. "We want to thank every single one of you for your patience and endurance through the years. We know there is still a mountain of work ahead of us and the team is not taking this milestone as an opportunity to rest, but as a chance to recover, evaluate, and plan for future," is written in the Bohemian Interactive's statement on Steam.
It looks like the party is just starting for the devs and hopefully, the free weekend and big milestone attracts new players and offer fresh challenges to returning ones.
