EA and BioWare have been slowly warming Dragon Age fans up lately, which culminated in a cryptic blog post where the latter announced more info about the next installment coming soon, likely hinting at a reveal during The Game Awards.
Casey Hudson usually gives BioWare fans something to murmur about prior to a big reveal and it seems the time has come for Dragon Age 4 rumours. He stated that fans who followed him or Mark Darrah on Twitter could have picked up some of these hints, putting special emphasis on Dragon Age 4.
He continued the post by saying that "Dragon age is an incredibly important franchise in [BioWare]" which was already an implications something is going to be revealed soon. Hudson added that the company is "excited to continue [Dragon Age] legacy" and that fans should look for more info on this in the coming month.
A tiny tail in brackets was Hudson's disclaimer that he wouldn't tell fans where to look, which hinted at a third-party host, meaning it's not an official BioWare account that would share the reveal. Considering that The Game Awards is the next big game-related event and the only one that will be happening in December 2018, chances are this is the place where Dragon Age 4 will be revealed.
Even though BioWare and EA might show Dragon Age 4 at The Game Awards, the game is nowhere near completion. According to VentureBeat, sources pointed to the next instalment being at least three years away, meaning it's coming to the next generation of consoles and will likely not even be present for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
On the bright side for RPG fans, Cyberpunk 2077 should come before that, but that is also bad news for those who love fantasy setting as heavy hitters such as Dragon Age and Witcher series are not likely to happen anytime soon.
