Bungie released a new dev video in which they revealed the Destiny 2 roadmap for 2018 and 2019. The fifth season will introduce Black Armory update which is coming on 4 December 2018 and it's the first expansion in Destiny 2 annual pass.

As Destiny 2's fourth season is ending on 27 November 2018, Bungie has shared a detailed look at the new content coming with Season of the Forge. The fifth season will kick off with Black Armory expansion which will include new game mode dubbed The Lost Forges, which can be played in three player team and it appears to be horde mode variation.

Scourge of the Past is the name of the new raid which is set on earth in the ruins of the Lost City. Players never got to explore the location and it will be interesting to see if Destiny's story gets deeper with the potential discoveries inside the new raid. Scourge of the Past will be bigger than Raid Lair but smaller than Forsaken's Last Wish.

The Black Armory will increase the power level cap to 650 from the current 600 and will include a bunch of new loot to help you with your gear power levels. Speaking about gear, the new season will introduce three new Pinaccle Weapons and you can expect some heavy grind to obtain them. Also, players will be able to obtain new weapons that come with mods which can be applied to all Forsaken weapons.

It looks like the new expansion will be focusing on challenges and loot as Bungie confirmed earlier that The Black Armory is not a new story campaign. This means that players will get their narrative from quests and Scourge of the Past raid. It's understandable as Forsaken's popularity was mostly due to endgame challenges.

Bungie will be hopeful that Black Armory impacts the players the same way as Forsaken which injected fresh and fun endgame activities. The new expansion looks to follow the same path, at least on paper. For a proper look at the new content, we'll have to wait until 4 December 2018 when Black Armory will be officially out.
