Ubisoft are offering some pretty good deals on their games during this Black Friday where players can pick up Rainbow Six Siege, For Honor, Far Cry 5 and The Division at great prices. Some editions should be avoided though, here is which.
Black Friday on uPlay has some special quirks - you can get better deals on Ubisoft games than in other marketplaces, but since it's Ubisoft, there are game editions we always recommend avoiding.
Right off the bat, there is Far Cry 5 which is slapped with a 50 per cent discount, standing at $29,99 / €29,99 / £24.99, just like on Steam. The trick with uPlay is that if you played other games through this launched, you may have earned uPlay points. You can use 100 uPlay points to get a 20 per cent off code, as per these instructions.
Considering uPlay points don't work only on pre-orders, each and every Black Friday deal should be eligible for additional discount with them.
With that in mind, another good deal is The Division which is priced at $12,50 / €12,50 / £10.50 during Black Friday, but some content is locked behind a paywall called the Season Pass. This one costs $10 / €10 / £8.50, so even with the Season Pass, The Division will set you back only about one third of the price of a AAA game, which it actually is in its current state. Bear in mind you can apply uPlay point discounts for even lower prices.
Rainbow Six Siege is a high profile game these days and it can be snagged for $14 / €14 / £11.90 for Standard Edition or $10,49 / €10,49 / £8.74 for Starter Edition. Avoid the latter like the plague. The price difference is minimal, but grinding difference is substantial.
The last but not the least deal is For Honor, which you can pick up for $9,90 / €9,90 / £8.58 if you get Standard Edition. Starter Edition is at $7,49 / €7,49 / £6.24 , but it is just as grindy as Rainbow Six Siege's Starter Edition, for a minimal price difference, so the same warning still stands.
