Blizzard are hosting another free Overwatch event, but this time it is going to last an entire week instead of just a weekend. The free week will kick off on 20 November, will last until 26 November 2018 and will behave like free weekends.
Overwatch's free week will let players keep their progress if they purchase the game afterwards, but there is no mention yet whether it will be discounted during or after the event. That said, most of free weekend events in the past also entailed a 50 per cent discount, and the free week is no exception to this unwritten rule.
Playing Overwatch for free will not bear any restrictions either. You will have access to all of the game's content, including the new hero, Ashe, as well as the game's 19 maps. Pre-loads are already available on all viable platforms - PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Unlike the free weekends, the free week will include Twitch Drops. In order to be able to earn the rewards, you will need to link your Twitch and Blizzard accounts. On top of that, you will need to watch at least two hours of any Overwatch stream in order to get all the rewards. Speaking of which, they are sprays, themed after Ashe.
Blizzard posted a deployment schedule, so the players can know when the event starts in their respective time zone. It covers most of the world's time zones, and you can check it out here.
Bear in mind that you will need either Xbox Live Gold or PlayStation Plus subscription in order to play the game, depending on which console you are on. PC players are not required to pay any additional fees.
As per usual, any stats, loot boxes or loot found inside them that was earned through gameplay will carry over to the full game if you purchase any edition on PC. In order for them to carry over on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, you will need to purchase the Legendary Edition which contains a pile of cosmetics.
