CCP Games have released a new expansion for their space MMO EVE Online. Onslaught is a free update and it's bringing cooperative PvE play along with new ships, navigation structures, fresh content and quality of life improvements.
EVE Online's Onslaught expansion is now available for all players as a free update, CCP Games have confirmed with a new trailer. The biggest addition is clearly co-operative PvE gameplay that will support up to three players who get the chance to explore the new version of Abyssal Deadspace.
Players will be able to choose any combination of ships for their space quests. Difficulty has also been adjusted to accommodate the increase of players. A mini 1v1 PVP arena-style battle is a new optional feature.
It will allow the pilots who made it to the end of their journeys to fight others who achieved the same feat. It's a winner takes it all kind of battle in which the defeated players lose all their hard earned loot.
New exotic blueprints are also coming with Onslaught. The Kikimora is a long-range Triglaivan destroyer ship, and Drekavac is deadly close range Triglaivan battlecruiser.
Two new ships will be available next month - the Rodiva Support Cruiser and Zarmazd, a Triglavian logistic cruiser that can buff the armour of other ships.
Activity Tracker is another new feature, and it will allow players to review various activities. Players can monitor and display their completed achievements in New Eden along with the option to track their character's development and progress.
CCP Games also made some balancing changes by nerfing the Capital Emergency Hull Energizer's duration and resistance bonus. Capital remote repair modules and shield booster modules duration has been increased as well.
Global Search and Compact Planetary Interaction Overview are some of the quality of life improvements brought to the user interface. The new expansion also adds new navigation structures, letting the players to jump between two points in space.
