If you've been looking to get into PUBG on Xbox One then we've got good news - Microsoft and PUBG Corp have made Playerunknown's Battlegrounds free to download and keep, although we're not sure for how long so you may want to hurry.

The move will save you $29.99, which is what PUBG originally goes for, so it's definitely a good deal. Naturally, you'll still need to have Xbox Live Gold, which is a separate purchase, but free is free.

We're talking about PUBG's 1.0 release on Xbox One, not the launch version that couldn't maintain stable 30fps. On the other hand, you could argue that performance hasn't really been the game's defining characteristic. Quite the contrary in fact, but that's a whole 'nother story.

The move by Microsoft and PUBG led many to believe that PUBG's exclusivity to Xbox One is coming to an end, which would mean that Microsoft paid for a year of Greene's allegiance. At the same time, it all but confirms that the PlayStation 4 edition of PUBG is on its way.

Korean Game Rating Board have been among the last to spill the beans with their rating of PUBG for PlayStation 4 but the first proper hint came from PUBG Corp themselves. Ironically enough, it was back when they rolled out a video dubbed Road to Xbox One 1 0, where they discussed what it took to bring the game to the stable 1.0 version on the console.

Among the latest confirmations comes from a member of PSNProfiles forum, who recently dug out two promo images of PUBG linked to two digital game ID codes. The two codes are for North American and European PSN store editions of "BATTLEGROUNDS000", so we're pretty much looking at a done deal here.

Judging from the reviews, which are currently at 3 out of 5 stars on Microsoft's Store, Xbox One players haven't been exempt from PUBG's performance issues, which are just about taking the PC version to its knees. We guess it's only fair that PlayStation 4 users come to share our misery then.
