Death Stranding mystery untangles a bit with TGS 2018 trailer

Hideo Kojima's upcoming game Death Stranding has got a new trailer on this year's Tokyo Game Show, which finally saw the debut of Troy Baker's character. Unfortunately, if you were hoping to find out more about the story, you can stop.

Unless you're keen on watching through the whole show, skip over to 47:45, which is where new trailer begins at. As I said though, the trailer leaves us in as much dark as the lion-ish creature on it seems to pack, which as you'll soon see is a lot.

That doesn't make it seem any less impressive though, as the trailer is enough to tickle anyone's curiosity. Add to that the fact that we still don't know a darn thing about the storyline, other than it has something to do with life-death boundaries, but we guess that was Kojima's plan all along.

What we do know is that the new Death Stranding trailer is called The Man in the Golden Mask and debuts the character of Troy Baker, whose Skeletor-ish mask seems to have some supernatural powers. The golden-masked villain obviously has some beef with Norman Reedus's baby-lugging character and it's likely to end in blood, be it black or red.

Other than that, we're pretty much in the dark as far as Death Stranding goes, except for the fact that it's likely to feature plenty of walking. We're not making it up either, because that's what Kojima himself foreshadowed during the game's E3 trailer, whose first half entirely consists of players walking.

Thankfully, this time around we at least caught a glimpse of action, even if it's only a prelude, because the E3 trailer was utterly confusing. I mean, is the girl sad? Or frightened? Hold on, she has answers? So, umm. Okay, whatever Kojima we'll wait.

Death Stranding will be launching exclusively for PlayStation 4 although we're yet to find out the launch date. However, the game has already got a fervent fan-base, not least for the inclusion of latest Hollywood darlings Norman Reedus and Mads Mikkelsen.
