CD Projekt Red have started a mysterious stream regarding Cyberpunk 2077 on Twitch, simply branding it "DATA TRANSMISSION IN PROGRESS_". Needless to say, all the fans and their cats have gone insane with speculation in a matter of minutes.
You can tune into the stream via twitch.tv/cdprojektred or simply click the play button above. The stream started at about 10:00 CEST / 01:00 AM PDT on 27 August 2018. It has accrued over 30.000 viewers at the time of writing which is rather impressive considering it's no prime time in either European or American time zones.
A large number of Cyberpunk 2077 fans have gathered all over forums such as Reddit as well as the game's official Discord to post various theories. The latter's musings are particularly interesting, as there were 16 CD Projekt Red staff online at this time, which is fairly uncharacteristic. It's almost as if they were watching the mass hysteria and studying what happens next.
While some fans are speculating that we will get to see another trailer at the stream's conclusion, others are hoping for wide-audience reveal of demo gameplay that was shown at E3 and Gamescom earlier this year.
The most probable theories at the moment, however, are new screenshots or new promotional art that could potentially announce a gameplay reveal in the future. This is due to sharp eyed Redditors who managed to crack a piece of code that's being written on the stream and a part of it yielded what seems to be a PNG header, implying there are images involved.
That said, normal decryption methods might not be all there is to the stream, as CD Projekt Red have been known for hiding words among symbols and letters before.

At this point the best course of action seems to be waiting for either code breakers to finish their work or CD Projekt Red to end the stream and reveal the news more directly. The latter could take a while, but let's hope they have more mercy on their fans than Bethesda did with Fallout 76's reveal stream.
