Focus Home Interactive and New World Interactive have announced that Insurgency: Sandstorm's beta 1 is underway and will last until 13 August 2018, but exact end times have not been specified. They did, however, announce a second beta.

Insurgency: Sandstorm's release date is set for 18 September 2018 and the first so called beta for those who pre-ordered the game is already up and running. This early access for pre-orders will conclude on Monday, 13 August 2018, but a second one has been scheduled for 30 August 2018.

That one will be longer and will last until the game's full release, which makes it even more obvious that these "betas" are actually early access for pre-orders. For some reason everyone keeps shying away from saying outright they give preferential treatment for those who pre-order.

Either way, if you want a piece of action in Insurgency: Sandstorm, you will need to shell out £23.39 / $26.99 / €26.99 which is not a bad price for a multiplayer shooter. Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will charge full AAA price for pretty much the same thing. Now, this is a price is with a 10 per cent discount that will be available until the launch apparently.

Owners of the original Insurgency will get additional 10 per cent off and this offer will stand until the end of the year, which can prove to be a rather good deal as players will have plenty of gameplay videos and reviews available to see whether the game will be worth their time and money.

If someone wants to snatch that maximum of 20 per cent off, they can still see live gameplay via streams and videos on YouTube which are bound to pop up before the next week kicks off, since there are no NDAs involved.

When the game releases on 18 September 2018, it will be exclusive to PC, and console versions are slated for release at some point in 2019.
