Defiance 2050's producer Matt "Destromathe" Pettit has delivered a content road map for Defiance 2050, announcing three new classes over the next few months, new enemies, story missions, sieges, Arkfalls, end game bosses and dungeons.
Destromahe opened his post on the official site by saying that he was blown away by the number of players who gave Defiance 2050 a try. This is rather odd, since the game peaked at 2.301 concurrent players, which about three times fewer than LawBreakers had, and we all know how that one ended. At least they beat The Culling 2.
Anyway, Trion Worlds are planning to add three classes to Defiance 2050 over the next few months. Demolitionist is the first one that will be landing, although founders already have this class unlocked. Therefore, it's not that much of a new class but rather an end of a timed exclusive.
Demolitionist will be followed by Crusader, which is described as a "hard-hitting" class so it's easy to figure which role this one will be filling. The final class will be Engineer, which is planned for Winter 2018, and this will be the one that can deploy automated turrets on the battlefield.
According to Destromahe, new missions, contracts and story content will be coming in waves after Crusader becomes available. There are already some concerns within the community though, with some being sceptic about whether these missions and story content will be just recycled Defiance assets, as players have already reported that Defiance 2050 lacks bits of content from the original game.
On the other hand, one thing will be certainly new - a customisation system. Players will apparently get a chance to enhance their characters with technology that will push the boundaries of their power. It will come hand-in-hand with an unnamed new threat that will pretty much require players to utilise this newfound power in order to beat it.
