Team EnVyUs have released their European CS:GO roster on 20 June and according to their CEO the move to disband was a mutual decision between the players and the organisation. EnVyUs will now focus on making a North American roster.

The team struggled to find the right roster for quite a while now. Between bad tournament results and roster problems, the players and the organisation came to an agreement to disband. This decision also affects the academy roster.

Envyus expanded into CS:GO scene back in 2015 quickly becoming a powerhouse, snatching up titles all around the world. Trouble started brewing back in February 2017 when EnVyUs lost three core players, Kenny "kennyS" Schrub, Dan "apEX" Madesclaire, and Nathan "NBK" Schmitt.

The team struggled trying to find the right formula without much success. Enyvus made their last appearance at CS:GO Asia Championships taking the third-fourth place.

Envyus owner and CEO Mike "hastr0" Rufail gave an official statement via video posted on twitter explaining the reason behind the disbandment. During the six minute video Raufil said that this isn't a goodbye to Counter Strike scene, as they are trying to establish a competitive roster based in North America.

“We have enjoyed working with each and every player, coach and manager involved with the Envy CS:GO and Academy teams in Europe these last four years. A piece of our heart will always be with the players and fans in France that helped us grow the popularity of competitive Counter-Strike across the globe." said the CEO Mike Raufail.

No official statement was released from the players, leaving them to either stick together or go separate ways. The players that were released from contracts with EnVyUs are:

  • Adil "ScreaM" Benrlitom
  • Fabien "kioShiMa" Fiey
  • Ali "hAdji" Haïnouss
  • Vincent "Happy" Schopenhauer
  • Cédric "RpK" Guipouy
  • Alexandre "xms" Forté

The Academy team as mentioned was disbanded as well releasing the following players from the contracts:

  • Lambert "Lambert" Prigent
  • Audric "JACKZ" Jug
  • Julien "PetitSkel" Marcantoni
  • Christophe "SIXER" Xia
