It's easy to have missed the launch of free-to-play Pokemon Quest on Nintendo Switch, what with the recent announcements of Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eeevee! drowning the headlines, but the former is doing more than fine on its own.
While everyone was expecting more news on Pokemon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee!, Pokemon Quest silently racked up more than a million downloads on Nintendo Switch, which really says enough about the interest for the cute little lemmings.
Game Freak and The Pokemon Company caught everyone off guard with the surprise launch but that was the only surprise. Unsurprisingly, world plus dog pounced at the chance to add Pokemon to their Nintendo equation.
Pokemon Quest has since been marketed properly and there's even better news if you live in Japan. Pokemon Quest flavoured merchandise has already hit the shelves there and it's selling like hot cakes.
As you can see, there's plush key chains galore, but if you consider yourself a Pokemon fanatic, you may as well go for the large plush version, which we've found pretty cool. Of course, keychain versions look infinitely cuter but we'll let you be the judge of that. And yes, they deliver to UK and EU.
In related news, Game Freak have released some pics and screenshots for their other upcoming Switch game Pokemon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee! Yes, it's still a single game, bar some cosmetic differences, so you'll still be getting the full, unhindered Pokemon experience.
Unlike Game Freak's earlier iterations though, Let's Go, Pikachu! will be leaning towards Pokemon GO, boasting connectivity and exchange of Pokemons via bluetooth. Note however that you can only sync from your Android/iOS to the Switch and not the other way around.
Game Freak's Pokemon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee! for the Switch will be hitting the shelves on 16 November 2018, priced at arguably saucy $59.99. We should know more as we draw closer to launch but it's safe to assume that Pokemon GO mania is coming to the Switch before 2018 is done.
