Microsoft are doing something different this time around, so instead of giving out four free games as part of the Games With Gold service, they'll be giving out $100 worth of Smite currency and three games, two of which are Xbox 360 titles.
In case you're not familiar with Smite, it's a massively popular MOBA that's got quite a bustling esports scene too. It's made by the same developer who developed Paladins and its mobile iteration Paladins Strike, the latter of which you may have heard from the Overwatch artwork theft incident.
The game has quite the following on Xbox and $100 is quite the gift for a free to play game. Moreover, it's said Smite only offers one bundle at that price, whereas Microsoft's Games With Gold bundle should bring 20 gods and 50 bonus items. The Smite offer is available from 16 June to 15 July 2018.
Of course, that's under the assumption you're fan of MOBAs. If not however, you've got a hundred bucks laying around that can't be cashed in, in a game you don't play.
As for the games, the first in line is Ubisoft's legendary desecration of the Assassin's Creed franchise dubbed the Assassin's Creed Chronicles. The game marks the franchise's exploration of the platform genre, where Ubisoft have proven once and for all that they still know how to ruin franchises.
In my personal opinion, this is where the good stuff starts, which is pretty ironic considering we're talking about Xbox 360 games. The first oldie but goldie is Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, which will be available in the first half of June. LEGO Indiana Jones 2 comes in the second half of June 2018.
In case you haven't checked out the current offer, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is available through Games With Gold until 15 June 2018, whereas Super Mega Baseball 2 and Xbox 360's Vanquish are up for the taking until 31 June 2018.
Interestingly, the announcement leaked to reddit ahead of schedule due to German Xbox jumping the gun. Contrary to what John Lennon may suggests, borders can occasionally be useful.
