Tencent have rolled out the latest patch for PUBG Mobile, adding the desert map, Miramar, progress missions and more. You can now buy specific items in the shop, albeit at a pretty steep price even for PUBG's already steep standards.

PUBG Mobile will now have progress missions, rewarding players for successful completion and giving them new ones. Weekly activity will be rewarded as well and it seems like Tencent are pushing all the right buttons.

Tencent added a local quick team feature, allowing players nearby to enter six digit codes to quickly team up. In case you were wondering, this eliminates the need to add them to your friend list in PUBG Mobile to team up, allowing for a quicker start to the match if the need arises.

The 0.5.0 patch also adds what Tencent call Synergy and Connections, which most likely refers to team play boosts. The company unfortunately had to push back adding regions and flags in PUBG Mobile, although there are regional language channels available.

PUBG Mobile now has a shop where you can check out and buy gear, although as you can see, there's some pretty pricey stuff on display. As one reddit user mentioned in the patch notes comments, you might as well buy a real shirt for $25. Nevertheless, I'm sure Tencent will sell more than a few.

There's also a new Secret Stash, which is basically a limited time offer with special discounted items from PUBG Mobile's shop. A cosmetics update wouldn't be complete without avatars and Tencent added a bunch.

The team also improved smoothness of spectating and parachuting, added melee combat sounds, did some tweaks so as to match it to PUBG's big brother on the PC and quite a few more.

Interestingly, it seems like the community is pretty pleased with Tencent's efforts and results, not least for the mobile PUBG emulator for the PC they've made available for free recently. The company already announced first person only mode for PUBG Mobile's patch 0.6.0, which will be announced at a later date.
