God of War has managed to retain the first spot in UK's boxed sales chart for the fourth week in a row, which means that Kratos' new gig has overtaken The Last of Us: Remastered in consecutive chart positions for a Sony's published title.
Of course, boxed sales charts are more like indicators of trends and God of War hasn't really had serious triple A competition other than Far Cry 5 but that's not to take away from Sony's achievements.
This is Kratos' fourth week in the pole position but if it stays there for two more, Sony will have beaten the The Last of Us' consecutive victory record from PlayStation 3. Disregarding the inherent inaccuracy of the chart, It would be quite a statement considering the PS3 success The Last of Us enjoyed.
Interestingly, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze's result from last week seems to have not been a fluke. The game continues its strong run of form and remains in second, despite being a four year old Wii U port.
Far Cry 5 and FIFA 18 remain third and fourth, with Fallout 4 climbing up two spots to fifth place. Mario Kart 8: Deluxe and LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 dropped by one place each and sit sixth and seventh.
Assasin's Creed Origins reported a massive 75 per cent sales increase and climbed back up to seventh. Apparently, its performance was quite erratic, dropping out of top 10 after a pretty good run. GTA V returns to top 10 as well and one has to wonder whether it's ever leaving the chart.
Destiny 2 returns to top 10 with a 36 per cent increase in sales, which may have to do with Bungie's increased activity as of late. Of course, you're probably better off going for June's Humble Monthly subscription, which means you can pick up Destiny 2 for only $12.
