Honest Bungie strikes again, as the company's promises have once again proven to be empty. The company promised new content in Warmind but according to Railgun at resetera, a huge part of the DLC are actually reused campaign levels.
Railgun posted his impression of Destiny 2's newest DLC, Warmind, on resetera forums and you can smell the sheer amount of their disillusionment from the tone of the post. It starts with the statement that "the only new and original Strike" is the one that is exclusive to PlayStation 4, even though they were advertised by Bungie as new and separate content.
This is true, since it's not hard to dig out Bungie's roadmap and the announcement of Warmind from April 2018, which clearly states that the DLC will "send you to new place, to meet new heroes and battle new enemies".
The amount of emphasis on "new" in this announcement would think they're making a whole new universe in real life. But then again, this is Bungie so the fact that these promises were broken isn't even surprising anymore.
Moving on, Railgun's post continues with the statement that "two of them are literally just the last two campaign levels". If Bungie are going to attempt to pull one over their players again, they could at least try to obfuscate it. It's just too easy this way.
There is also a mention of one of the four campaign levels that were set in an old area of Earth, with the last two doubling as Strikes. Railgun also mentions the same asset recycling that happened in Curse of Osiris but there was at least an attempt to hide it with different dialogue and under the guise of a "second run of the simulation". The punchline here is that the final boss of the campaign wasn't used as a Strike in Curse of Osiris but this time, it was.
Railgun's disappointment mirrors that of many other Destiny 2 players, with one of them even saying "This is so Destiny it hurts".
