Funcom have decided to conduct a "thought experiment" and depict how Conan would build, survive and dominate in our own world. Each of the three videos ends with asking the potential players how they would do the same in his world.
Conan Exiles is bracing for full release on 8 May 2018 and Funcom are pressing the attack with the marketing. Their latest endeavour is a series of online videos that ask players how they would survive, build and dominate in Conan's world, which is also a play on the game's slogan.
First video shows Conan struggling with real world building, his difficulties are hinted to be due to IKEA-like setup that he has to contend with. Poor guy is trying to put together a torture device but on the bright side he has learned how to use a cordless drill. The other two videos show his vicious barbarian nature as he attempts to kill a product of our world's sorcery and a flying demon spawn. All three videos can be seen on the bottom of the article.
Funcom have also noted that they hope players will adapt to Conan's world better than he did to theirs, in order to enjoy the game instead of being stuck like Conan. I doubt their wish will come true, as many a player will find themselves pondering how to proceed with the "body features" sliders for both males and females.
Conan Exiles' release will mark 14 months the game had spent in Steam Early Access on PC and nine months in Game Preview on Xbox One. Funcom claim they have added many improvements to the game during that time, chief among them being a larger game world.
We will be playing Conan Exiles and a review should come up as the game launches, so keep an eye out if you want to know just how much the game improved and if it's worth your time. Funcom have also announced a launch day patch so we will follow up with more information as we delve deeper into The Exiled Lands.
