Little Green Men Games have released a new update for their Star Point Gemini that overhauls the diplomacy system, fixes bugs and brings quality of life changes. Update 2.0 will be free and promises to breathe life into the AI factions.
Little Green Men have given Starpoint Gemini Warlords a massive upgrade for its grand strategy systems by adding more responsiveness to the game's factions that aren't directly controlled by the player. They will now send resources and share research and tech if they're friendly or neutral, but they will break said alliance if they feel threatened by the player.
That said, they can also break alliance and backstab the player for their own gains as well. Nikola Jukic, the project manager for update 2.0, gave a clarification on these changes, saying that the players asked for more abilities and options within the diplomacy mechanic. Little Green Men decided a diplomacy overhaul was the way to go and here we are, with love letters between factions in hand.
This is an inside joke of sorts for Little Green Men, but the "love letters" are actually a full-blown war dialogue. This dialogue will range from other factions asking to become the player's allies to them breaking the alliance because the player built a Proxima that could potentially threaten their planet.
Relations with other factions don't have to end on a bad note though, as the negative reactions from allies are mostly triggered by the player doing something that aggravates them. While friendly or neutral, these factions can contact the player and send resources in case the player loses a part of their fleet during a battle. They can even offer to retake a lost satellite for the player, but this will cost credits.

Update 2.0 also brought quality of life upgrades, such better control layout and hints for new players. Zeljko Kos, the company's chief technology officer, said that the game already has a devoted player base but it was a bit confusing for newcomers who could easily find themselves overwhelmed. These updates aim to improve the interface, add tooltips and tutorials so the integration becomes a bit easier for them.
