Playtonic Games have recently revealed plans for Yooka-Laylee and claimed they weren't procrastinating in a pub. What the additional content will be isn't yet discerned, as the developers are taking their time when it comes to reveals.

Yooka-Layle might get some new content in the near future, as developer Playtonic have revealed some things they are working on in their recent blog post. The company stated that they weren't simply doing nothing for the past four months, but rather working on additional content for Yooka-Laylee as well as something secret that they still aren't ready to reveal.

Playtonic refused to reveal any more info, but they claim to have many things to showcase soon enough. Whether it will be free content, paid DLC, new characters or something else entirely, we cannot know for now. We can speculate that it might be a sort of expansion or a new game entirely, but it's up to the developers to reveal it when they are ready.

For the game's birthday on 11 April 2018, the developer held a giveaway for players to retweet them on their post and win one of five exclusive character posters signed by the team.

Yooka-Laylee is a platformer game developed by Playtonic, who were key developers on the previous Banjo-Kazooie games some 20 years ago under Rare. The game was funded through Kickstarter, and the project gained massive media attention and over £2 million which equates to almost $3 million USD from backers.

Yooka is a chameleon and Laylee is a bat, and players will take control of both of them in order to help them bring back a magical book that was stolen from them by an evil corporation.

The game was a relative disappointment to most players and critics alike, as its old-school Banjo-Kazooie style was viewed as emulation and pandering to the audience's nostalgia. While it did successfully emulate those experiences, it also came with outdated controls and technical shortcomings.

Yooka-Laylee came out on 11 April 2017 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The Nintendo Switch version was released on 14 December 2017 without a physical release.
