The Division Global Event Blackout masks may have been leaked

Global Event Blackout is just around the corner for The Division and it seems like certain sleuths have datamined the appearances of the new masks. The new masks leave a lot to be desired, as they seem to be just retextured old masks.

UPDATE: This is no longer a leak, official The Division stream confirmed the first row of masks will be the ones that are available during Global Event Blackout.

Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment have caused quite a stir with their announcement of The Division 2 earlier this year, but they have also confirmed they will support the original game in the foreseeable future. One part of that support are two completely new Global Events, with Blackout debuting in April and Onslaught in May 2018.

Even though the Classified gear rewards have already been listed for both events, the mask rewards haven't been shown yet for either event. This could either mean they are going to be an icing on the Global Event announcement cake or they're so horrendous no one wants to show them before players actually invest themselves in the Global Event grind. Well, the latter will prove to be true if the preview in the picture below turns out to be true.

UbisoftSix new masks in different colours are shown for the new events in The Division. The Division - Top row are supposedly Blackout masks and the bottom are Outbreak masks.

Actual mask names are not disclosed yet but here is what it looks like to me. In order of appearance these masks are Classic Mask retexture, CBRN retexture, Chemist mask retexture, two retextured Haze with different filters and a Hockey mask retexture. These are either lazy work or wrong information.

That said, this data mine needs to be taken with a grain of salt, as the only source so far is the German fan site for The Division. There is no reason to doubt mydivision.net so far but the quality of these masks puts a big question mark above the leak claims. On top of that, you can notice a slight issue on the flaming CBRN mask, on the mask's edge above the forehead. This could suggest it's just a mask photo from earlier that's been tampered with.

Either way, this is the only info on Blackout and Onslaught masks there available so far and we will post updates as they become available.
