Massive Entertainment and Ubisoft have scheduled server downtime for The Division's update deployment. Even though we're all fresh off the March Global Event marathon,we're eagerly expecting Blackout which may be just around the corner.
UPDATE: This article is out of date, the correct date has been confirmed to be 23 April 2018.
Update 1.8.1 will be landing on 12 April 2018, as previously announced, and the exact times will be 09:30 AM CET for Europe and 12:30 AM PDT for North America. Expected downtime is three hours which may prove problematic for potential early birds but the incoming changes will be well worth the pause.
Highlights of the update include the two missions that will be getting a Legendary mode - Amherst's Apartment and Grand Central Station. Hunting for Exotics and Gear Sets will now be way easier. Special Vendor will now have a classified cache that guarantees a piece of Classified gear but better yet are the changes for Global Event vendors who will now have caches that limit their pools to a single set of player's choosing.

Speaking of Global Events, it is already known that Blackout is scheduled to happen in April. The Division's official Twitter has already confirmed Blackout will not be made available immediately when the update lands. There is no official date given yet but an educated guess would be 17 April 2018.
This is because every single Global Event so far debuted on a Tuesday and has finished within the same month it began in. There are two Tuesdays left in April, which are 17 and 24 April 2018 but if Blackout starts on 24th, it will end on 1 May 2018. I will note once again that none of this official, but simply highly likely.
If I hit the spot with date prediction, Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment will have enough time to announce and showcase the new masks for Blackout before the next Tuesday. This would also mean we will be getting a mask preview in less than a week.
