Boss Key Productions definitely have creative talent but their marketing department is lacking in equal measure. Radical Heights their second attempt at releasing into a saturated market, only days after announcing Lawbreaker's failure.
Boss Key Productions have rained trouble upon themselves before releasing Lawbreakers with terrible marketing decisions and now it seems they didn't learn too many lessons from it. They have released a reveal trailer for Radical Heights at a dubious date - precisely one day before the game went into Early Access. Contrary to their stubborn policy of refusing to make Lawbreakers free-to-play because that would mean microtransactions, they made Radical Heights free-to-play with microtransactions.
On the bright side, these microtransactions will be exclusively cosmetic but there is still an element that gives players slight advantage if they purchase the Founder's Pack. This will give them a permanent 10 per cent boost on cash earned if they win a game. This will result in having bigger bank accounts that can be used for buying guns but then again, you only get the boost if you win the game so it does not seem to be too bad at the moment.

Boss Key Productions' marketing department may be terrible but their creative side is certainly a lot better. Cliff Bleszinski is the mind behind Unreal Tournament and Gears of War series, both of which were massive successes. His latest brainchild was Lawbreakers that was honestly a fun arena shooter, but it failed miserably after Boss Key went back on their word when they promised it would be a free-to-play title, then later failed to optimise the game and eventually released it too late to grab any audience.
While Lawbreakers' failure is only in part due to saturated market, it certainly doesn't help that Radical Heights is jumping neck first into the battle royale genre and repeating that mistake. PUBG and Fortnite have already scooped the vast majority of potential players and with the rampant growth of Fortnite's popularity it is hard to imagine a new free-to-play battle royale with cartoony graphics becoming successful.

The game is supposed to be available in early access from 10 April 2018 but there was still no ''Instal'' button on its Steam page at the time of writing.
