Behaviour Interactive, known worldwide for Dead by Daylight, announced their next multiplayer game Deathgarden. No surprise they will be going after the same genre considering Dead by Daylight's apparent success with fans.
Canadian developer Behaviour Interactive garnered their fame recently with Dead by Daylight's release, which pits five player survivors against one unstoppable killer, and has the two sides working against each other. Deathgarden seems to be the same type of game, but with a few twists apparently.
It's an asymmetrical shooter where one player controls a hunter character tasked with hunting down five runners as they all participate in a bloodsport set in a dystopian world. The teaser trailer for the game was released yesterday and the Internet is already buzzing to hear more about the game.
Deathgarden seems to be an improvement of the genre judging by the teaser trailer. The universe is a dystopian future world, and we don't really see any of the character's faces, alluding to the fact that it might not be very lore or story oriented, but focus more on the chase and run gameplay like Dead by Daylight did.
No doubt the game will add more variety to the mix after Behaviour chose to make a game in the same genre using the knowledge previously acquired during the development of Dead by Daylight. Behaviour Digital/Interactive will talk more about the game soon as they have announced to show up at PAX East 2018 with a playable version available for PAX guests to try out.
Players can sign up for the game's alpha on PC at the game's official website. Other games in the asymmetrical shooter genre include Evolve, which didn't seem to have such high-fly success, Friday the 13th which garnered a bit more interest, and finally Behaviour's own Dead by Daylight.
Dead by Daylight released on 14 June 2016 for PC and on 20 June 2017 for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. We will be covering PAX East more, so stay tuned for more Deathgarden news.
