Today's AMA session with Hazelight Studios revealed another few tidbits on their upcoming game A Way Out and we now know that the game will look better on Xbox One X than on PlayStation 4 Pro and there won't be any Nintendo Switch version.
The AMA was held on reddit and makes for a pretty interesting read, albeit scattered experience, so we'll try and sum it up for you.
Asked whether A Way Out takes advantage of PlayStation 4 Pro's hardware, Director Josef Fares said that users should be expecting "higher frame rates overall".
Fares pointed out that Xbox One X will enjoy the same benefits, meaning higher frame rate, but with added resolution as well. In general, however, Fares thinks the consoles were a breeze to work with.
Many users asked Hazelight to confirm and explain the reason why EA isn't making any money off of A Way Out, which to be honest stumped most of us and immediately set us thinking on what's EA's endgame here. I mean, c'mon - EA? No profit? Something has to be fishy here.
Apparently, Fares says that EA is definitely a benefactor here and it's their way of fishing out smaller studios with new ideas. So, there you have it. Now, fish beware.
Hazelight say they're all fans of Nintendo's Switch but seeing as how the console came out late into development, they didn't really focus on it. Besides, Fares says that it would require buying extra Pro controllers, which "would be a little unfair to the concept of the Switch."
There have been some more, ahem, colourful question as well, but we'll let you look for yourself if you'd like in the AMA thread. A Way Out comes out on Friday, 23 March 2018 for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
