Epic Games' Fortnite: Battle Royale is not only on fire with updates, it's spreading like wildfire as well. Epic have rolled out the v3.3 update a bit later than intended, as well as started the signup phase for Fortnite's iOS version.

First the good news. As the name suggests, Fortnite's Blitz mode will feature much quicker round times, with matches lasting 15 minutes. Fortnite's storm circle will be shrinking from the moment a Blitz round starts, which should up spice up the match dynamics.

We're not sure whether it's just us, but we seem to have noticed that the pace of Fortnite's rounds has dropped somewhat, so we definitely won't mind.

The bad news is that we'll have to wait until 19 March 2018 for the Blitz mode to be enabled, most likely a result of the same hiccup that delayed the Fortnite v3.3 patch to begin with.

Of course, Epic will compensate for the new Fortnite mode's urgency with increased loot spawn chances, supply drops and launchpad spawns. In fact, harvesting resources in Blitz will rake in double the regular amount of whatever you set your pick to.

Seeing as how Fortnite's bound to see some serious carnage once Blitz arrives, the devs upped ammo box health from 120 to 250 whereas treasure chests now have 500 hit points, in contrast to the 200 they had before.

Epic describes Fortnite: Battle Royale's remote explosives as capable of toppling "fortresses at the click of a button". The weapon comes in Rare variants and can be found in Supply Llamas, Chests, floor loot or drops.

As of today, players can register for iOS Fortnite: Battle Royale on Epic's official site. In case you'd rather sift through the patch notes yourself, you can find them here.
