With the release of Sea of Thieves just around the corner, Rare decided to refresh everyone's memory on what their swashbuckling pirate adventure has got in store, as well as remind them of cross compatibility between Xbox One and PCs.

Rare once more highlighted importance of ships in Sea of Thieves and seeing as how they're main transportation in the treacherous seas, taking good care of them is vital for ensuring your bread and butter.

Players will be required to navigate ships, raise sails, perform maintenance and do everything you'd have to do with an actual ship, only with less blisters perhaps. The Sea of Thieves allows for crews up to four players, quite handy in heavy storms.

Rare reminded that the world of Sea of Thieves stretches over three biomes called the Shores of Plenty, the Ancient Isles and the Wilds. All in all, plenty of room for drunken pirates to run around.

Of course, the launch will bring all the in-game factions - Gold Hoarders, Merchant Alliance and the Order of Souls. As the name suggests, Gold Hoarders will have you running around searching for gold, whereas the Alliance and Order focus on trade and magic, respectively. Fulfilling these quests earns players reputation, of course.

Note however, that Sea of Thieves utilises horizontal progression, meaning the more reputation players have - the more cosmetic items become available. While we're on the subject of bling, there will be extensive customization options for ships and characters themselves, the latter via the pretty cool Infinite Pirate Generator.

The game has been developed by Rare for Microsoft's Windows 10 and Xbox One and is on track for March 20 2018 launch.
